Workshop One: Developing players in the psychological corner

About the workshop: This is a theory session based on developing players in the psychological corner and will be directed to coaches working in the youth development phase. David Pears will talk about developing the psychological resilience of players and how to help them deal with frustration, anxiety and mistakes, by developing a mental resilience to stay positive and focus, to improve performance.

About David: David Pears is a senior lecturer in the School of Sport Science and Physical Activity at the University of Bedfordshire. He is the course lead for BSc Sport Science and Coaching. Additionally, he is the lead technical coach for Bedfordshire FA’s U16 ACC squad and head coach of Bedfordshire Schools FA U16 girls.
